Checked condensate leak, checked condensate trap, looks clear, blew out condensate trap. Checked temperature drop, getting only 15 degrees, will need to change refrigerant charge. Due to storm we need to return to further diagnose Returned to continue to diagnose, checked refrigerant charge, found low on charge. Topped off refrigerant charge, balanced by superheat. Checked operation and temperature drop across coil. Recommend replacing vs repairs due to age and r22 refrigerant.

Found that duct work at air handler on the the return side is not very good for air flow. Found entire coil sweating except upper left hand side where the air flow does not transfer across very well. Found r410a refrigerant pressures to be 329/148 at 89 degrees. Pressures are pre well on. Only found 14 degree split at indoor unit, but system was keeping 72 degrees inside. He did have refrigerant added within a few weeks ago though explained to him that if the leak is is in the evaporator coil, it could be a $3,000 to $4,000 repair. Recommend he replace the system. He is going to wait at this point until the system stops cooling again.

Customer stated ac unit sometimes does not work, check ac operation heat pump with air handler 10 kw back up, down flow position, fitler ok, check temp split only 10 degrees, airflow is set to 800 2 ton heat pump check outdoor unit refrigerant pressures noticed capacitor reading 20 rated at 40, noticed return air is only hitting indoor coil by 50% other 50% is n,Ickes by sheet metal, coils needs a return transition so air passes at 100 % through coil, informed customer about findings system is running customer ok with repairs,,,system running at 72 return 62 supply

Service call that the AC was not cooling. Upon arrival spoke with homeowner about issue. System was turned off upon arrival. Inspected indoor coil and found small amounts of ice remaining on coil. Removed ice and put system in operation. Replaced 201 Air Filter provided by the homeowner. Checked Air Measurements and found only a 14 Degree Supply versus return differential. Measured refrigerant charge and found system low on charge. Added 3lbs of 410-A refrigerant to system, charging by Subcooling. Subcooling increased from 1 degree to 10 degrees and temperature split increased to 18 degrees. No dye was added to the system at this time. Would recommend a full AC Tune Maintenance on system.

Service call that the system was not cooling the home. Upon arrival found indoor temperature at 85 Degrees and the system was set to cooling. Proceeded to the basement to trouble the system. Found indoor Coil and Lineset completely frozen and the blower motor not running. Control board was flashing a 6 Flash Red Light error code indicating an issue with the Blower motor operation. After testing, found blower motor was receiving 244 Volts for the high voltage but was not testing any 24V signal. Blower was attempting to start but would slowly spin a 1/2 rotation and then stop. When system was powered off the Blower wheel would not free spin and had resistance. Recommendation is to replace the ECM Blower Motor. If the Control Board does not send the proper signal to the motor then the Control Board will also need to be replaced. Turned off breakers in the Air Handler and pulled the disconnect for the outdoor unit. We will call Amana in the morning to get pricing and availability for the M

Installed new heat pump and air handler as well as a new whip and disconnect . Set the outdoor on new plastic pad on top of cement pad. New linesets and thermostat were added for the outdoor we triple evacuated the unit after pressure held at 352 psi for ten minutes. We vacuumed down to 134 microns and held for 10 minutes cracked charge and added 13 ounces of r-410 a refrigerant to the system.. we added a new eztrap on the air handler and gravity drained to the side of the house. The new T6 thermostat was added and programmed for operation. System meets factory standards. Thermostat was shown to customer and showed how to operate thermostat. Customer stated check won’t clear til Tuesday call before running the payments so she knows it’s there 20x20x1 air filter

Performed precision heat tune on American standard heat pump. 20x20x1 air filter is clean. Checked all electrical conections and components. Checked refrigerant pressures and temperatures at indoor and outdoor units. Found temperature rise of only 13 degrees. Went out side and found older r22 heat pump low on charge. Gave homeowner the option of adding refrigerant but do not recommend due to age of heat pump and not knowing how long charge will last. Recommend replacing heat pump system. Set up appointment for Friday between 9- 11am.
