During tune up, we found that the ECM Blower motor did not have surge protection. We recommend this as a preventative measure to protect the ECM Blower from damages in event of electrical surge. Not only that the blower motor is required for the system to operate but it is very costly to repair/replace. This is not a required installation but we always offer it to customers who have this time of motor.Returned to site to install ECM motor Surge Protector. Wired new Surege Protector into the motor and tested operation. The green light highlighted in the photo indicates that the Surge Protector is receiving 120 Volts.
Performed precision air conditioning tune up. Changed filter, customer supplied. Found ECM motor had no surge protector. We recommend surge protector to prevent damage in event of electrical surges. Estimate is included.Customer mentioned humidifier did not seem to work this past winter and wants us to check it out prior to next fall season. We set the humidifier to “summer†and turned it off.System is running at manufacturers specifications.
Performed precision air conditioning Tune Up. Changed filter customer supplied. Fixed loose insulation on blower door. Found no surge protector on ECM Motor. Recommend adding one to prevent motor damage due to electrical surges. Estimate is added.System is found to be low on Charge based on Pressure/temperature readings. We suggest adding about 4 lbs of R410a to increase Cooling efficiency and prevent the compressor from overheating as it requires refrigerant to keep cool under heavy operation during hot days. With the system low on Charge, we suspect that there may be a leak. We recommend adding dye to help find the source of the leak in event that the system continues to lose refrigerant over the summer..Added 2 lbs of Refrigerant instead of suggested 4. This brought the pressure/temperature readings up to recommended levels. Added dye as well. Customer is aware system is still currently covered under warranty from 2012 install. Customer will reach out if performance issues occu

I have my Manometer hooked up to the Gas Valve and I am adjusting the Pressure while the Trane Furnace is running in 1st Stage, which we also call Low Fire. The Combustion Numbers were slightly off while it was in Low Fire, so I increased the Gas Pressure a small amount.
Working on an Amana Gas Furnace in Glenn Mills. We installed this unit back in May of this year. Even with brand new systems it is important to keep up on maintenance. This will allow us to fine tune any settings if adjustments need to be made. System replacement is an investment, and it is important to keep that investment running like new!
