No cooling. Found compressor off on internal overload. Found weak 49 MFD capacitor. Cooled compressor. Replaced capacitor. Cycled system in cooling. System was overcharged 22 SC 385 PSI and climbing head pressure. Recovered refrigerant until system maintained 15SC (,manufacturers target subcool value). See photos. System is operating well at the time of this service.
Checked no cooling complaint, set thermostat to cooling, unit started but compressor didnâ€™t. Checked run capacitor, found open dual run capacitor. Replaced run capacitor. Started air conditioner, checked refrigerant charge.

Ductless unit not working properly found system off upon arrival, check operation of ductless and found unit cycling on refrigerant pressures, noticed some iced starting to form on liquid line, system has a problem with refrigerant and leaks search is needed to perform a leak search pull the charge out, pressures test system find whatâ€™s leaking and repaired or replaced whatâ€™s leaking, once the leak is fixed pull a vacuum, down to 350 microns and add factory charge...at this point we donâ€™t know whatâ€™s leaking it could be fitting or a component..also we will provide option to replace system
Checked no cooling complaint, outdoor unit fault. Checked air filter, found very blocked air filter from drywall sanding. Pulled 1â€ replaceable media. We do not carry this filter media on our trucks. Removed filter and installed 1â€ disposal filter. Checked outdoor unit, found control locked out on low pressure. Reset lockout, started air conditioner, checked refrigerant charge ok. Low pressure tripped because of the blocked air filter.

Went over System and found that there is no returns in the hallway upstairs, but there is individual returns in the bedrooms upstairs. Suggested to homeowner to leave the doors open during the hot days to be able to pull the heat from the bedrooms. Also suggested at attic access door a lot of heat pools out of the attic door in the 2nd floor hallway, suggested purchasing a insulated attic door cover. Also found at 81 degrees 410a pressures were high. 515/136 with 54 degrees of subcooling. RemovEd 2 1/2 lbs of charge now pressures are 320/129 with 15 subcooling, much better than before. Also checked temperature split was 20 degrees at air handler. Heat pump system is working fine at time of service.

50 gallon electric water heater....No hot water, found only one leg of power getting to water heater, no voltage across line 1 and line 2 turned off Breaker and reset no change, buzzing sound was coming from breaker, would recommend replacing breaker quoted to replace breaker customer ok repairs after new breaker check amps draw and voltage at the water heater, 18 amps with 238 volts between line 1 and line 2, it will take couple hours for water to heat up.
Put in new contacter and 60/5 mf capacitor. As soon as System called for cooling, compressor tripped the 200 amp main. Will not be able to get temporarily cooling till System is replaced.
Removed the defrost board and wired yellow and common straight to the contactor. Also wired in ge reversing valve to o &c and wired fan motor line together. Checked r-22 pressures, pressures were 164/62 with 8 degrees of subcooling. System is temporarily working for the time being.

Found outdoor a/c breaker in panel tripping instantly and sparking. Found at outdoor compressor, wiring was fried. Also found contacter and capacitor had also burned up. Let homeowner know that even if we replace these components , the compressor can still be burned up and would cost around $3,500 to $4,000 just to replace the 1994 compressor. Recommend replacing the a/c and coil. Gas furnace was replaced in 2010. Called homeowner for payment for diagnostic, they said the6 normally mail in payment. Office will put quote together to replace a/c system.
Ran system in cooling. Refrigerant pressures temp rise ok. Connected room sensor. System is operating well at the time of this service. The Toueys asked about PECO Rebates; deadline June 15.
Installed new air handler and heat pump, we removed old heat pump the pad and the pump up feet and leveled the ground. We then set new pad in place and then put the heat pump on top and added the snow feet and leveled it out again. We removed old air handler and return box and supply plenum. We installed new return box and sealed it to the wall with the return opening. Put an aprilaire media filter on that and the set the new air handler on that and screwed it in place and sealed it. We installed new plenum with a flex duct running to the supply opening and sealed it in place. Ran new line set and 24 volt wire from the outdoor to the indoor and brazed it in. Also ran new condensation line with eztrap to the exterior on the house as per the existing one. We pressure tested and put on vacuum. Tested out and went over install with homeowner.
