Questions we answer every day
If your question isn't here, call — our line is answered around the clock, and there's no such thing as a dumb question about your own house.
Service & scheduling
How appointments, dispatch and emergencies work.
Do you really answer the phone 24/7?
Yes. Calls to (610) 873-1244 are answered around the clock, and HVAC emergency dispatch runs nights, weekends and holidays. VIP members pay no after-hours premium.
How does your pricing work?
Flat rate. We diagnose the problem, quote the entire job before any work begins, and you approve that price up front. There's no hourly meter running and no surprise on the invoice.
What areas do you serve?
Chester, Delaware and Montgomery counties in Pennsylvania — including Thorndale, Downingtown, West Chester, Exton, Media, Broomall, Malvern, Kennett Square, Norristown and King of Prussia. The full list is on our service areas page.
How long has DiBiase Heating and Cooling been in business?
Since 2008. The company started out of a basement and is still family owned, now working across HVAC, plumbing and home performance from two offices.
Heating & cooling
Furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps and ductless systems.
How often should my system be serviced?
Once per season, per system — cooling in the spring, heating in the fall. Regular maintenance keeps efficiency up, catches safety issues like a cracked heat exchanger, and protects most manufacturer warranties. Our VIP Membership Plan tracks the schedule and calls you.
Should I repair or replace my system?
We weigh four things with you: the age of the equipment, the refrigerant it uses, the cost of the repair against the cost of replacement, and how the rest of the house is performing. You'll see that math before you spend anything — sometimes the honest answer is to repair it and fix the house instead.
Why is one room always colder than the rest?
It's rarely the thermostat. Duct leakage, missing air sealing at the attic plane, and an oversized system all produce that symptom, and only one of them is solved by new equipment. A whole-home assessment tells us which it is.
Can you add cooling to a room without ductwork?
Yes. A ductless mini-split works well for additions, sunrooms, converted garages and older homes with no duct runs. One outdoor unit can serve several indoor heads, each with its own control.
Home energy & air quality
What sets a BPI-certified contractor apart.
What is a whole-home energy assessment?
A standard visit inspects the equipment. Our BPI-certified assessment tests the house: a blower door measures air leakage, thermal imaging finds missing insulation, and combustion safety testing checks that appliances vent properly. You get a prioritized list of fixes ranked by return, not a sales pitch.
Why does air sealing come before new equipment?
Because a leaky house makes the equipment work harder than it should. Sealing the attic plane, rim joists and duct runs is the least glamorous work we do and usually the highest return per dollar — and a tighter house often needs a smaller, quieter, cheaper system.
Do you handle plumbing too?
Yes. Plumbing and water heaters are part of what we do, alongside HVAC and home performance, so one company can handle everything under the roof that moves air, water or heat. See the full service directory.
Membership & payment
The VIP Membership Plan, financing and how to pay.
What is the VIP Membership Plan?
It's our maintenance membership: scheduled tune-ups on your covered systems, priority dispatch ahead of non-members, member discounts on repairs and replacements, and no overtime rates at any hour. Plans start at $15.75 a month — $189 a year for a gas furnace and AC or a heat pump, $299 a year for an oil furnace or boiler. Full details on the plans page.
Do you offer financing?
Financing is available on qualifying installations so a replacement can be spread over monthly payments. Rates and terms come from the lender and are subject to credit approval — we'll walk you through the options that apply to your job. See the financing page.
How can I pay?
We accept credit card, check and cash. Payment is due when the work is complete, at the flat-rate price you approved before we started.
Are your technicians certified and licensed?
Yes — NATE certified, EPA certified and BPI certified, working under Pennsylvania home-improvement contractor license PA026480.
