Found a 4” band of ice around the bottom middle (about 8” from bottom) of outdoor coil.
Extended defrost is now enabled.
Ran system in cooling and disposables fan to expedite melting ice ban.
Poured hot water on bands. Also ran in cooling with charging jacket over outdoor unit,
Checked ohm value of outdoor ambient sensor and coil sensor. Cleaned pipe the coil sensor is clipped on to. Sensors ok.
Lowered fan speed to 381 CFM per ton. Was set at high. (460cfm/ton)

Final temperature rise 67-88=21°

Now with J1 extended defrost jumper the unit will go into defrost for longer periods thereby preventing the ice band issue from recurring.

Would be a good idea to offer them a weather guard. Icicles overhang the unit. Lots of precipitation on top of unit.

System operating well at this time.

Luis 2-8-26 customer called in for no heat, third floor. Found frozen drain line, customer will use space heaters until pipes thaw. Meanwhile I set thermostat to run the Busch heat pump until customer takes care of frozen pipes. Once we get higher temps customer will change settings on thermostat. Heat pump will run and will provide some heat to house.

I arrived to the customers home to service their 4 yr old gas furnace system.
I started with checking the air filter and replaced , the filter size is 16x25x1. I serviced the customers 600 humidifier and tested . I set the humidistat level at 35% . I checked all my electrical connections and voltages. I inspected and tested the burners , flame sensor and the igniter. I water tested all tubing and hoses. I inspected the exhaust and fresh air pipe for restrictions and bellies. I inspected the inducer and the blower motor operation. I checked and tested for combustion and took temp rise splits at the return and the supply. Everything is running fine at this time of service.

Collected for $59.00 for the humidifier service.

3 Ton R22 heat pump. Current system has a 15KW electric heater wired from a 60A breaker and 6 gauge wire. When we offer replacements please size electric heat kit as 10KW. Will also need a 220V receptacle for condensate pump. Urgent pump is 120V wired from a 240V circuit with white as ground. System is low on R22. 50 psi.. I told them they can run it and then run the fan periodically to defrost indoor coil. Took dimensions of air handler. Keep humidifier New Lineset 60+’ Condensate pump pumping to sump. There is 18/5+ 18/2 between thermostat and AH. Total of 7 conductors. They were given options for 15 seer Trane by another company. The other company told them they are 6 weeks out from being able to install. Tiny is scheduled to come out for consultation to pay 8AM. They need to leave by 9:15AM.
