7/16/26 Dan I arrived for no cooling on a 4 -5 yr old Goodman straight a/c system in an attic. I started by looking at the air filter, its good filter size is a 24x24x1 . I checked the blower motor operation and made sure that the indoor coil had no ice or debris on it. I went to the outdoor unit and inspected the system components and made sure the system has pressure. I found the pressure is very low my sh is 68° and my sc is 0° i did look to see if the Goodman unit has a manufacturing warranty it’s till 2031. I gave the customer 6 different refrigeration repair options under a labor charge warranty . They will look over all their options with their son to see what makes sense , and they will get back to us. I collected $99.00 for today’s diagnostic fee paid by check number 1712. Customers are where that the system is still down. They do have a few small window units they can use.

Inspect coils indoor and outdoor, cleaned outdoor coil using water. Check all electronics and electrical components and connections. Check supply and return air temps 18 degree. Indoor control board is showing wear on solder connections, indoor coil drain line showing major refrigerant oils, check outdoor unit electrical components, capacitor and contactor ok outdoor unit tilted to front. Refrigerant levels are little lower than normal, customer might experience poor cooling and no cooling at all. There could be more than one leak. Indoor coil showing refrigerant leaks. Unit ai from 2009 I would recommend getting an estimate to replace system. I emailed estimate to add refrigerant as temporary fix. Called customer and left voicemail. Customer not present during inspection.
Found “3 Flash” on refrigerant mitigation control board which means “active alert leak or communication. Conducted electronic leak search. No leaks detected. Replaced sensor. There are a total of (2) molex connectors between A2L sensor and mitigation board. The black wire “GND” was not properly seated within the smaller white molex plug and therefore there was no continuity through the black sensor wire. I decided to remove this smaller molex plug and wire nut the connections instead to avoid any nuisance issues with wires not making proper contact. After making new connections I made sure there was continuity through each of the (4)A2L sensor wires. Also pulled on the wires to try to uncover any issues with wire itself. System ran with no issue after this. The mitigation board will display “5 flash” which means “past sensor communication error” The part number for the A2L harness is Temperature split 21°

I Took indoor temp splits at the return and the supply on both systems , and checked the blower motor amperage draws. I looked at the outdoor units and the wiring connections and voltages . I inspected the outdoor components and checked my unit pressures by using super heat sub cool method. Everything is working fine at this time of service for both systems. 1st floor system has rust in the primary pan and could potentially leak in the near future, and the outdoor coil is degrading from ware . Equipment is 2.5 Ton American Standard heat pump. No cooling Aprilaire 213 filter ok Cooled both overheated motors at outdoor unit using hose. Found failed dual run capacitor, then found refrigerant diagnostics that indicated a slight undercharge. Needed 9oz of R410a refrigerant. Made an exception and invoiced for 1/2 pound of refrigerant. *Normally we have to charge for minimum of 1 pound. Temperature split improved from 16.6° to 20° after charging and suction line began to sweat/condense, *superheat dropped from 26 to 15 System operating well at this time. 12 years old which is considered beyond replacement age for heat pump system. Would strongly consider replacing the HVAC system. Homeowner agreed to plan membership, diagnostic fee, replace failed capacitor and charge system 1/2 pound r410A refrigerant.
7/2/26. Fully assessed no cooling situation on recently installed Goodman r-32 system for 2nd floor. Found when I was there was able to check temperature split in attic it was 20 degrees. Went out to check r-32 refrigerant pressures were 322/223. May need to adjust txv valve as the next step. Problem was while I was onsite power kept dropping out and back up generator would kick on could not get adequate readings. May need to return on a cooler day to re check readings. For now explained to baby sitter to keep the doors closed to the room due to high ceilings.
Replaced Indoor coil that had been identified having refrigerant leak under warranty. Pumped down refrigerant, removed failed coil, installed new with new drain pan. Used new o-ring for EEV connection. Evacuated system to 235 microns and opened service valves. Allowed system to run in Test mode cooling. Pressures match curves in chart given 74° Indoor wet bulb and 94° outdoor temperature. 358/152 11.6 SH 3.7SC Temperature split is 61-82=21° Tested drain and pump as well. System operating well at this time.
Kurt did a great job with explaining my options and trying to diagnose the problem.
7/1/26. Fully assessed no cooling situation on 1999 trane gas furnace and a/c. Found water all over the floor around 1st floor system. Found water all down in thru the blower motor and over circuit board. Found 24 volts between c&g at control board but not output 125 v to blower motor. The problem with the entire situation is if the system is low on r-22 and the system was freezing causing the other components to fail.the system is 27 years old and not worth repairing. Provided estimate to replace circuit board and blower motor. But at this point it is too much of a risk. Highly recommend get a replacement quote. He is going to speak with his wife first.

I made new 2x4 metal junction box and spliced a new length of 18/5 wire from that point back to the furnace and wired in. Tested system afterwards first by turning on indoor fan only>Ok Checked 45/7.5uF dual capacitor, reading 44/7.4 Good Then made demand for cooling system came on with no issue. 7° Subcooling 19.4° Temperature split 19.5° System operating well at this time. Outstanding tech/sales rep in Tony; good pricing; convenient installation date; flexible financing options. Installation team led by Luke was great: on time, courteous, knowledgeable, professional, and hard working. Everything went like clockwork. I commend ownership for assembling a top-flight workforce and for establishing a culture of excellence. Tan provided thorough post-installation follow up inspection and was informative and helpful. All company personnel are on time, are courteous and are good communicators. Overall, great customer service. I recommend DiBiase without reservation. Kurt diagnosed our thermostat problem and installed a new unit. As with other DiBiase techs, he was prompt, courtesy, knowledgeable and efficient. Kurt synched the replacement thermostat to our wi-fi and provided useful information on temp and fan settings. We are very pleased with this service and highly recommend Kurt and company. Technician Barry diagnosed and corrected a sensor problem and the heating function appears to be operating properly at this time. According to the neighbor on site, he was very professional and informative. We will continue to monitor the 6-month old system. Tech Barry returned twice to make adjustments and repairs to our Trane unit. He followed up to check that controls were properly configured. In both instances he was professional, polite and determined to make needed corrections. He conducted a thorough and detailed analysis. Barrys work ethic is commendable. We will be evaluating the effectiveness of our 6-month old system over the coming winter days. Kurt made adjustments to the thermostat and outdoor sensors. As with other Dibiase techs, he was prompt, professional and personable. Kurt conducted a comprehensive assessment of our system and helped us understand how thermostat settings impact the heating function. May 2026; first hot spell of season; AC not working. Tech Dan diagnosed issue, replaced fuse, and reconfigured cramped, twisted wiring. AC resumed working. Abrupt weather change has temporarily eliminated need for AC so further tests of system will have to wait until hot temps return. Dan provided excellent customer service, as we are accustomed to with DiBiase.
