6-20-25 Luis, customer called in for no cooling, unit would not bring temperature down below 79. Someone else change condenser fan motor, found unit off upon arrival. Set thermostat to cool and checked operation indoor blower runs, (oil furnace). But no outdoor found disconnect in the off position. Switched disconnect to on position and test operation. Unit is very old, all parts are about die. Major rust and corrosion on electrical components. Outdoor coil is fully restricting flow due to damage on aluminum fins. Compressor is making loud noise. Unit uses r22. Currently unit is giving some cool air. Final recommendation is system upgrade, indoor unit has no return to first floor. (This will need to be address during new system design). Home comfort consultant to come out tomorrow mourning.

Customer called in for no cooling, found system off upon arrival wet switch was tripped. Found no water in the pan. Reset switch and test operation check filter ok. Flush drain ok. Maybe moisture from attic activated the switch. After testing system I noticed condensation at air handler cover. (No insulation in place) this is mostly the source of condensation buildup. Check supply and return air temps ok 24 degree split. Check outdoor unit refrigerant levels and pressures (within range). Attic unit does not have drain protection on 3/4 drain line. We might me able to install ez trap if ez trap does not fit we will have to add secondary float on coil. We will also insulate entire unit to prevent condensation. Customer decided to just replace wet sensor for now and see how the unit reacts. Install new sensor test operation ok.

Reviewed home and geothermal installation of 2nd floor system. Unit is a pond loop geo and single supply and return piping split between 2 units with 1 pump for both systems.

Upon arrival I found thermostat was calling for air conditioning, but outdoor unit was not running. I found low pressure switch was trapped so I checked refrigerant pressures. I found standing pressure at 23 psi indicating system was nearly empty. Using an electronic leaked detector. I was able to find refrigerant leak on outdoor coil. Gave owner estimate to replace outdoor coil but due to system being over 20 years old I recommended replacing system.

Customer called in for no cooling. Talked to customer upon arrival. Customer stated outdoor unit would not come on. Inspect indoor and outdoor unit. (Parts and wiring has been modified by others). Noticed jumper on transformer and some work done on outdoor unit. Compressor pulling 4 amps but no operation. Check wiring diagram and noticed coming and start wires were switched. Change wires and test operation. Unit is very old. Has some issues. Man in issue is refrigerant seems to be lower than normal, compressor sounds rough during start up. Fan motor makes noise from bearings. Indoor unit has open return with 80% gas furnace and copper pipe inside furnace cabinet (code does not permit this). Due to age and condition final solution will be system upgrade. Home comfort consultant to come out tomorrow morning to provide estimate on upgrades at 8 am.

Fully assessed no cooling situation. Found indoor blower motor humming but not running. Gave it a spin and it started up. Tested 10 mfd capacitor, capacitor tested at 9.7 mfd capacitor is good, blower motor needs replaced. Homeowner decided to go replacement of blower motor. Will need to order motor and come back and replace. For now homeowner is able to spin motor and get it running again. Checked refrigerant pressures. They were 369/125. Subcooling 9.3 superheat. 28. Return temp in house is 91 degrees. System is working for now.

Fully assessed water leaking situation. Found evaporator coil pan filled to the top and pouring over onto the floor. Found condensation trap clogged. Gave store owner 2 different options, option (1) to unclog the drain . Or option (2) install ez trap with clear trap and clean out brush for drain. She decided to go with installing ez trap. Installed eztrap and showed her how it works. Took temperature split at indoor unit. Temperature split was 22 degrees. 410 a refrigerant pressures were 300/135 with subcooling and 11 superheat. System is getting older but is working at time of service.

Performed ac tune up on 3 ton Mobil home nordyne unit. Check electrical low and high voltage connections and components blower more and capacitor ok air flow supply and return ok checked drain ok outdoor unit refrigerant levels cap and contactor ok cycle ac unit ok. Noriced outdoor unit is connected to main house pole with 40 amp breaker (not at the main panel). Also during today’s visit repaired small gas leak on one of the pipe fitting inside furnace cabinet. Re check connections ok no leaks.
