Found no surge protection on outside unit 7/11/25 Dan I returned back to the customers home to install an outside surge protector on the disconnect. Went inside the house, shut the breaker off for the disconnect for the outdoor unit. I went to the outdoor disconnect mountain in my new surge protection, wired it into the line side of the disconnect . I turned the power back on made sure new surge protection was working properly. Everything is back up and running at this time of service collected for balance paid by credit card.

Found no surge protection for blower motor , installed Ecm surge protector. Found outside unit not running, found it had tripped breaker at circuit panel. Reset and tested operation. A/c is working properly at time of service.

I arrived for a no cooling. I started with the basement unit inspected the air filter and blower operation . I went to the outdoor unit and found the outdoor capacitor has failed. I quoted for the repair customer approved. I went outside and remove the failed capacitor. I replaced with the new one and tested system operation. Everything is back up and running at this time of service.

Checked the AC side of the system . Checked the air filter and found good. Checked the wiring connections and the voltages on high volt and low volt. Inspected the indoor coil and flushed and tested the drain line. Checked the blower condition and inspected the blower amps and tested for static pressure. Went to the outdoor unit and inspected the wiring connections and the components . Checked and tested the pressures by using superheat and sub cooling methods. Checked the amps for the compressor and the fan motor and checked the indoor cooling temps at the supply and return. The AC system is working fine at this time of service.

Performed precision a/c tune up on 2020 trane a/c system. Homeowner just replaced aprilaire 216 air filter. Checked all electrical connections and components. Provided solutions for surge protection for gas furnace, whole home uv air purifier and WiFi premium ecobee thermostat. Checked temperature split. Flushed drain out. Checked temperature split. Checked outside capacitor. Checked refrigerant pressures and temperatures. Talked to customer about 1 bedroom that does cool as much on the 2nd floor. Explained to homeowner that this is a problem when the house was built as to how the duct was run. You would need to cut open drywall to re run duct a different way to get better air flow. A/c is working properly at time of service.

Found failed capacitor at outdoor unit. It is covered under parts only warranty. Offered to replace. Homeowner agreed replaced today. Tested system afterwards. Dean paid for invoice today.

Upon arrival, I found no power going to outdoor unit. Performed mega ohm test on compressor and found windings were burned out due to recent power surge. Gave homeowner estimate to replace compressor under warranty. homeowner paid deposit on compressor replacement. Need to schedule replacement as soon as possible.

Customer call for no cooling. Indoor unit blows air but no outdoor unit. Found no power to outdoor disconnect, customer has whole house generator, generator switch is probably the issue, there is no light on switch relay from transformer. Customer will contact generac. Provided estimate to install soft start or hard start assist.
