Heat pump system 6 month check up. Checked the wiring connections and inspected the coil . Checked the air filter and found good, filter size is 18x20x1 . Checked my safeties and drain trap . Set the thermostat to heat mode. Went to the outdoor unit and removed the cover and checked all components. Checked the voltages and amp draws. Checked the refrigerant pressures. Tested the system in defrost mode and made sure the original furnace would come on. The heat pump section of the system is working fine at this time of service .

Furnace was operation when I showed up. Jodi said there was a period yesterday when it was not running, temperature dropped to 63° No active fault codes. Checked error code history. There was a B3 code but this was from the past. Both filters are clean. It is possible the wet switch had tripped and then dried over time. Wet switch is in the metal pan. I placed on this rubber pad today. Checked all fan speed setting, configuration in cool cloud: Good Static pressure in the blower compartment with fan I full speed -.54” Good There will be a considerable amount of condensation produced in the exhaust pipe of this system so I installed a drain kit to help divert water from inducer assembly. Furnace operating well at this time.

No heat for second floor system. The pressure switch hose as not connected to the secondary cover plate port. Which caused the E3.4 error cod im history. I verified correct draft (1.43”switch rated for 1”)at this switch with manometer then allowed system to run in High stage hat for approximately 15 minutes. Measured temperature rise. Combustion tests: Pass System ran without any faults as designed after putting tubing back on. Condensate pump safety was also opened. Caused by a clog in vinyl tubing. I cut back, cleared with C02, re attached tubing with new clamp, then tested pump. Ok for now Recommend and left estimates (1) Replacing Pump (2) Runnng new 3/8” vinyl discharge tubing to the sump along with the vinyl for 1st floor system. Currently this system is ran to a plug in 3” sewer pipe. See photo. Homeowner would need to renew (2) plans this upcoming cooling season. I left estimate for this.

Contractor tool diagnostics of last 15 cycles showed no major issues with burner performance or operation. Flue pipe was pitched backwards at (2) points. Added strap. Re-oriented flue pipe elbow (at corner of indoor coil), and most importantly cut back 1.5” of the vertical piece that is attached to the breech of the furnace to allow for proper pitch. The barometric damper is installed on a horizontal section of the flue but the weight on the damper was on the vertical application side so barometric damper was not helping with draft. After correcting this my draft ranged from -.025 to -.04” Ok. *There is a stainless liner according to homeowner. Smoke tests was a little high and my initial combustion test had slightly low 02. (4.4%) I made slight adjustment to air band 02 now 5.6% and smoke test result was between 0 and 1: Good Also offered to clean heat exchanger. Homeowner agreed and I cleaned today. Brushed out breech and clean outs. Noticed there was a thin layer of oil in burner

Completed heat tune up for Damon Heat pump. There are a total of (3) 20x20x1 filters. Replaced 1 of these (at storefront), They weren’t dirty at all. System is not heavily used. They only open on weekends and keep thermostat set to 56°. Inspected wiring, controls, electric motors. Verified electric heat amps. 40A 10KW; left estimate for blower motor surge protector. Arrived at call for issue with unit tripping breaker. Reset breaker after homing out compressor and megging compressor. Unit made a very loud pop similar to a fire cracker coming from outdoor fan motor, ohmed out fan motor and found the purple leg is shorted to ground. Fan was ordered.

Performed 6 month inspection on Bosch heat pump, checked indoor unit and tested heat strips, and blower motor and indoor coil. Checked electrical connections on indoor and tested temperature split. Unit has an electronic air cleaner with a washable filter, went to outdoor unit and tested all electrical and mechanical components including compressor and fan motor as well as defrost cycle and refrigerant levels. No issues with system at this time

Turn power supply off to the furnace. Remove water from Auxiliary Drain Pan by thawing with a heat gun and using a wet vacuum to remove water once thawed. Dry pan and Wet Switch safety to reset. Remove the Inducer Motor and components to access the collector box. Remove the leaking collector box and install new Collector Box. Reassemble the Inducer motor, pressure switches, and components. Install a new Condensate Trap for the furnace and reconnect all drain lines and drain tubing. Put system into operation and test Furnace. After repairs test system operation, noticed that inducer assembly is starting to make a little bit of noise. Inform customer about this issue, current furnace is from 2014 provided estimate to replace motor Another option is to upgrade furnace. Performed combustion test ok.

Turn power supply off to the system. Disconnect and remove the failed Heat Kit from the Air handler. Install a new 10Kw Electric Heat Kit with Breaker. Complete all wiring connections. Restore power to the unit and put system into operation. Tested operation of the Heat Kit. Measure temperature readings and measure Voltage/Amperage on heating4 elements. 2/11/25. Replaced 10 kw heat strip and tested operation. Also performed precision heat tune up on Luxaire heat pump system. 16x20x1 air filter is ok. Checked all electrical connections and components. Checked temperature rise. Tested outdoor capacitors. Checked refrigerant pressures and temperatures. Heat pump system is working fine at time of service.

Remove front cover and I was able to see the power board showing black marks call tech support and explain what was going on. They will ship power board and display board to the customer location. Found system running and heating mode when I arrived. Checked pressures on digital board they were 478/101. Checked actual pressures they were 213/101 running at 19 hz. Called Bosch tech support. Went over readings. Checked to make sure reversing valve was energized in heating mode. Found suction line temp was only 81 degrees. And liquid line return was 70 degrees. Also checked across liquid line filter dryer, no restriction there. After checking everything with tech-support found failed pressure transducer. In order to replace pressure transducer will need to remove all refrigerant recover. Pump down and recharge system our office to provide estimate. Running on emergency heat for now.

Returned later in the day 2/6 around 6pm to find the outdoor unit frozen. Due to install mistakes the sensor was not put into the system correctly which caused it to freeze. Thawed system and placed sensor correctly. System is running to spec after service.

Arrived to the customer’s home for outdoor not running again . I was here Friday and recommended a hard start kit. I first looked at the breaker panel and found the breaker had a soft trip. I pulled the panel and inspected and tightened my connections on the compressor breaker. Breaker is rated for 30 amps minimum is 21 max is 35 breaker size is good . Customers agreed to having the hard start kit installed. Once installed I turned the system back on and tested my start up and amp draws on the compressor. Everything is back up and running at this time of service. I waived the call since I was here Friday . Collected for the hard start kit 293.96

Rebooted network, forgot the network. Relearned the network. All four items in network are recognized in network diagnostics: Router, Internet, Home/Diagnostics, Weather. Also double checked equipment diagnostics. Explained to homeowner that after a power outage in future he may have to reset breakers, reboot network, then forget and relearn network. Called tech support while here and we verified that everything should be fine at this point. Also verified current software is up to date. Trane tech support does not make case numbers. Also disabled scheduling because he does not use it, System operating well at this time.

Did a QA on a new trane 2stage gas furnace . Check the cleanliness of all the wires and connections. Inspected the the gas line to check for leaks started the gas furnace and adjusted gas pressures . Contactor was shorted. David agreed to replace today. The thermostat for this location absolutely NEEDS to be changed to a 2 HEAT/1Cool thermostat. Configure this thermostat for 1 cool/2 stage electric heat. The control board is what identifies system as heat pump and controls the reversing valve ETC. I left estimate for thermostat. Left Y out of the equipment terminal block. Only need W for now. We can install new thermostat when we return for tune up. System operating well at this time. Heat pump temperature rise 21° (65-86) with outdoor temperature 33°. I called David with details of invoice. Our office to email/bill.

Barry was very knowledgeable on my unit and helpful in explaining why is was failing to produce heat. He was able to get it up and running and recommend a long term fix. I was working the entire time he was there with little to no interruption. I only rate the cost as a 1 star because this visit shouldn't have been necessary

The crew of Luke and Justin worked very hard all day and explained everything they did. Tommy joined us in the afternoon after coming from VoTech at Downingtown West. He was there to watch and learn from his co-workers. I like that DiBiase has students learning from them. After all the work was done Luke went over how the new thermostat works and the new system.

Excellent service! Luis came to figure out why there's a big difference in temperature in one section of our house vs the rest, and after a few adjustments, we now have a regular airflow again! Well-worth having the service contract!!!
