Estimate

Attic AC/air handler system not cooling. Installed pleated 20x20x1 filter Found system running at 76 psi suction pressure. Found considerable amount refrigerant oil in evaporator drain pan. Offered to charge system to get to design/performance. Homeowner agreed to plan membership, charge 3# R410A refrigerant . They paid a deposit for this install with Solar on 7/23/15 so the warranty may be based on that date. But the equipment was not installed until some time in 2016. We need to determine warranty status of indoor coil and provide estimate to replace. Also discussed upgrading system to heat pump. They will decide what they want to do once warranty status and date are confirmed. Charged system 3# R410A refrigerant. Final pressures 130/319 15sH 12SC Final temperature split is 77-56=21° Good System will operate ok but there is a refrigerant leak so hard to say how long.

Reviewed home and concerns with Murali. Inspected duct system in attic and found many of the ducts were twisted and kinked which are reducing airflow. Recommend cutting ducts back and tightening up ducts. Also found insulation in 2/3 of the attic disturbed by work that was completed by construction. Recommend blowing in 12 inches of fiberglass in these areas. Inspected hot water and dehumidification system. Mechanical room is very hot. Recommend heat pump water heater to replace indirect water heater in basement so boiler can be shut down in the summer. Also recommend ducting dehumidifier to finished space in addition to crawl.

Assessed it appears that there are 8 inch flex 12 inch flex and 16 inch flex six total runs 4 8”and 2 6”

Barry 6/12/25 Installed weather right junction box for air handler power wire where it was formerly spliced and wrapped in tape. Installed disconnect for air handler circuit. Installed, wired and tested EZ trap. This section of the drain now falls within the equipment pan so if it ever leaks it will leak into pan. Charged system 2# R410A refrigerant. Before charging 30° Superheat and 3° Subcooling after charging 12.5° Super heat 8.3° Subcooling. Matches manufacturer target subcooling. Temperature split now 20° System operating well at this time. Joe authorized payment for invoice.
