AC Emergency Repairs: Why Your Air Conditioner Is Leaking

When you see moisture leaking from your air conditioner, it can be alarming. You might immediately wonder what the moisture is and what’s causing it. While some moisture can be expected, others can indicate you need emergency air conditioner services.

Some potential problems that can cause AC leaks are:

  • A clogged condensate line.
  • A rusty condensate pan.
  • A dirty or frozen evaporator coil.
  • A low refrigerant level.
  • Dirty air filter.

It’s essential to call our experts for emergency AC repairs as soon as you notice moisture leaking from your system. The faster our DiBiase Heating and Cooling Company professionals can repair your unit, the sooner they will restore safety.

Expected Timeline for AC Installations

When you schedule air conditioner installations in Exton, PA, it’s essential to understand the process and how long the work can take to complete.

This will prepare you for what to expect during the AC replacement and how large of disruption it will be to your household. It also lets you prepare for how long you will be left without a working AC unit, as your house can be hot and uncomfortable.

The timeline will vary by project, but AC contractors estimate the installation can take 4 to 8 hours. This includes removing the old unit and getting the new one up and running.

Benefits of Installing a Ductless Mini Split AC System

When selecting a cooling system, there are numerous benefits to installing a ductless mini split AC system in your house. Some of the top advantages can include:

  • A more energy-efficient unit that will help you reduce your energy bills.
  • The ability to allow for zoning in your house, controlling the temperature in individual rooms.
  • An easy installation process.
  • Small, flexible designs that can be mounted on walls or ceilings.
  • A quiet unit that makes less noise than a traditional forced-air unit.

Schedule Emergency Heating Repairs For Carbon Monoxide Leaks in Exton

There are many risks to running your heater in the winter months. While these can adequately keep your house warm, they also pose risks to your household.

One of the biggest threats is a carbon monoxide leak. Carbon monoxide leaks can happen suddenly. If this occurs, it can be incredibly dangerous for your family – even deadly.

In a heating system, combustion occurs in the heat exchanger, and air circulates around the outside of the unit. If there is a crack in the heat exchanger, then the combustion is incomplete, and it can create a carbon monoxide buildup. If this creates a leak, it can put your family at risk.

When you need emergency heater repair services, call our company for help. DiBiase Heating and Cooling Company provides the ultimate customer experience in Exton, PA. We guarantee 100% of your satisfaction!

Symptoms That Indicate You Need a New Heater

Do you need to replace your heater ? It’s essential to watch for key symptoms. Our experts recommend watching for the following signs:

  • An aging unit: If your unit is nearing the end of its lifespan, it can be time to replace it.
  • Rising energy bills: If your monthly utility bills are increasing, it can indicate your unit is working too hard to warm your home.
  • Bad indoor air quality: If you’ve noticed more respiratory issues while you’re in your home or seen more dust piling up around your house, it can indicate your system is not adequately removing particles from the air.
  • Uneven heating in your house: If you notice hot and cold spots around your home, it can indicate your unit is not efficiently heating your house.
  • Odd smells: If you start to smell exhaust or foul odors, it’s time to replace your system.

Key Components in Your Heat Pump

Numerous parts of your heat pump perform essential functions. Some key components can include:

  • Outdoor unit: The outdoor unit contains a coil and a fan.
  • Indoor unit: The indoor unit, or the air handler, also includes a coil and a fan.
  • Refrigerant: Refrigerant absorbs and rejects heat as it circulates through the system.
  • Compressor: This pressurizes the refrigerant and moves it through the unit.
  • Reversing valve: This changes the refrigerant flow, allowing the unit to switch between heating and cooling.
  • Expansion valve: This regulates the flow of the refrigerant as it passes through the system.

How an Energy Audit Can Help You Save

An energy audit is a powerful tool to help homeowners in Exton reduce energy waste and lower utility bills. At DiBiase Heating and Cooling Company, our expert team conducts thorough audits to identify areas where your home is losing energy, such as drafts, poor insulation, and inefficient systems.

Once we identify problem areas, we provide tailored recommendations, including air sealing, insulation upgrades, and other energy-saving solutions. By addressing these issues, you can enjoy a more comfortable home while significantly cutting down on energy costs. Let DiBiase help you save money and improve your home’s efficiency today!

Should You Repair or Replace Your Water Heater?

Deciding whether to repair or replace your water heater can be challenging.

If your water heater is less than 10 years old and experiencing minor issues like inconsistent heating or small leaks, a professional repair may be the best solution.

However, if your unit is over 10-15 years old, frequently breaking down, or no longer meeting your household’s hot water needs, replacement is often the more cost-effective option.

Upgrading to a new, energy-efficient model can improve performance, lower energy costs, and provide reliable hot water for years to come. Contact DiBiase Heating and Cooling Company to assess your system and help you make the best decision for your home.

Which Water Treatment System Is Right for Your Home?

Choosing the right water treatment system depends on your home's specific needs.

Consider a whole-home filtration system if your water has an unpleasant taste, odor, or visible impurities.

For homes dealing with hard water issues—such as mineral buildup on plumbing fixtures and appliances—a water softener is an ideal solution to protect your home’s water system and improve water quality.

DiBiase Heating and Cooling Company offers both filtration and softening solutions, tailored to ensure your home receives the best possible water treatment. Contact us today to learn which system is right for you!

Equipment is 3 Ton heat pump with electric heat back up. Installed by Dibiase in June 2020

Issue is “must odor” from ducts. He started using AC and noticed this smell.
I opened indoor coil. Offered to clean in place today. Sprayed with coil cleaner then water. Added treatment tabs to the drain pan, flushed drain line. And filled trap. Trap was empty when I arrived.
Trap is on the negative side of airflow. If trap body is not filled odors can be drawn into blower compartment/ducts. The trap will be dry at the start of every AC season because no water is produced in the drain on heating.
In some cases the indoor coil needs to be replaced.
Ductwork is internally lined.

Completed AC tune up while on site.

Replaced Aprilaire 313 filter provided by homeowner. Recommend replacing every 3 months.
Inspected indoor and outdoor coils; Indoor and outdoor coils in good condition
Inspected wiring, controls, electric motors and components; left estimates for surge protectors

I took temp rise splits at the return and the supply. Everything is running fine at this time of service.

I could not be happier with DeBiase. Our furnace was having issues yesterday, and Kurt is the technician who helped us on day one. He replaced a couple things trying to get our furnace running. Without explaining in a long drawn out story, on day 2, there was a big problem that came from replacing one of those parts. And it really wasn’t anyone’s fault, just bad luck. So Dan came by day 2. It was a pretty unusual problem. He went above and beyond with checking/cleaning everything, and got the furnace working. The cleaning isn’t “perfect” but it’s an imperfect scenario. Both techs were very thorough and professional. Their work was clean, they were honest, and personable. Felt like these guys really care about the customer, and the quality of work they deliver. I didn’t sign up for a contract or anything yet, but I will not be going anywhere else for my HVAC needs in the future. Thanks again, guys.
