Customer called in for control issue, sometimes temperature would not hold on thermostat will keep flashing cool on. Test operation of unit upon arrival. Check indoor and outdoor unit, based on what customer stated thermostat would not work properly would recommend replacing stat. I also did noticed sub cooling levels were lower. Could be due to original install date not enough refrigerant was added. Provided estimate to add refrigerant and thermostat replacement, customer approved Replacement or thermostat and add refrigerant, test operation of system ok. Customer signed up for service plan. Would want to use first visit for upcoming winter. Customer will be replacing filter soon

Upon arrival I found indoor coil was frozen. Shutdown ac system and thawed coil. check static pressure and found while running it in cooling it was getting to 1.6 inches of water column. This was due to a highly restrictive 416 air filter. Changed 416 air filter with a 413 air filter and was able to get the static pressure down to .5 inches. cycled system in cooling and checked refrigerant pressures. Found pressures were perfect with 413 air filter and would immediately drop if I put the 416 air filter back in. System is fully operational at this time.

Upon arrival, I performed maintenance on AC system. Changed homeowner provided air filter. Inspected evaporator coil and drain pan. Cleared and tested drain line. Inspected blower assembly and electrical connections. Cycled system in cooling and checked static pressure and temperature differentials. Proceeded to outdoor unit. Inspected outdoor coil and condenser fan. Checked electrical connections and components on outdoor unit. Found capacitor was going bad. Replaced capacitor at homeowners request. Checked refrigerant pressures and temperatures. System is operating appropriately at this time.

Fully assessed no cooling situation on r-22 2006 ameristar heat pump system. Gave sensi thermostat a call for cooling. Outdoor unit came on but no blower motor. Found 240 v and 24v volts going to blower motor, failed variable speed blower motor. Also tested 40/5 mfd capacitor at outdoor unit found it tested below 6% of the value at 36/4.8. Evaporator coil is very rusted and corroded. Provided estimate for variable speed blower motor replacement and 40/5 capacitor but explained to homeowner that the heat pump is 19 years old r-22 system and would make more sense to invest the money into a new heat pump system that’s more efficient. Asked him if he wanted someone to come out to give a replacement estimate, he is going to talk over everything with his wife first and will let us know. System is down at this time.

Performed ac tune up on Amana 2.5 ton system. Check electrical low and high voltage connections and components. Replace filter, flush drain test pump ok. Check supply and return air temperatures. 45/66 F. Check outdoor unit refrigerant pressures and levels. Capacitor and contactor ok. Noticed indoor blower is Ecm and does not have surge protection. Provided estimate to install Ecm surge protection. When over check list with customer and explained red tabs for surge, bacteria and water protection. Customer understands all three tasks.

Reilly was prompt, courteous and skilled. He serviced our a/c system and cleaned out the grills in the condenser. He assured us that everything was is proper working order. We look forward to a good season of comfort during the summer months.
