I arrived for a hydronic boiler leaking water. When looking at the boiler pressure was sitting at near 20 psi when customer turned the boiler on for me. It did get up and exceeded over 30 psi and started releasing water out of the relief valve into a bucket I did see, a bypass valve was wide open. I did close this would actually feed excess water into the boiler possibly causing more pressure check that seems good. Expansion tank is fine. Oil thing that could be causing back pressure is the domestic tank water tank I did cycle boiler off three or four times it did not exceed 30 psi Did 20 psi but will once boiler shut down. Will go back to run 18 psi monitor to be sure it still drain into the bucket I collected for my time here for tonight paid by credit card.
