He did a good thorough job. Explained situation well. Had an electrician in as he urged us to do. Electrician told us breaker should not have been placed in that particular slot because it was loose. Our only issue was timing. Time given was 4-6. There were no updates given and we think he arrived around 6:50. But we are happy he was able to get there on same day to assess!

60A breaker in electrical panel for air handler was tripped when I arrived.
Heat Kit is 15KW wired for 10KW. The second air handler breaker is left off.
I checked tightness of wires of air handler breaker in panel and air handler breaker itself
Also made sure our new breaker was properly connected at bus bar.
Amp draw 40A on new 6/2 copper stranded wire: Good
However after approximately 5 minutes run time I approached the breaker panel and I could smell a slight electrical burn smell and breaker was getting hot to the touch. I could hear arcing in panel. I decided to take air handler breaker out of the panel altogether and wire nut air handler wires until problems are resolved.

The panel is dated 1979 and they no longer make breakers for this panel.
An electrician may say there is a compatible 60A breaker or may advise to upgrade panel altogether.

There is a fire risk to leave system on for now. I told her to call an electrician ASAP.

Contacted NOVOSoft rep. System needs maintenance kit. We will email quote for this when we get pricing. It is an HTO system. Brine not being sucked from brine tank. Seals and nozzle are bad. Need maintenance kit.

Heat pump is from 2012. Homeowner stated it was charged 2 years ago. R410A. But he had high bills this June and July. But he said this could very well be the fact that his rates changed fairly dramatically
Refrigerant charge ok 8SH 6.7SC in cooling. 20° temperature split

Completed heat tune up for 3 Ton Carrier heat pump with 10KW electric heat kit.

There are (2) ceiling grille return filters. I replaced one he will replace the other very soon. Custom size.
Indoor coil has some rust as to be expected based on age. Outdoor coil ok
Inspected wiring, controls, electric motors and components; left estimates for surge protectors. Contactor in bad shape. Left email to replace. One thing that happened when I first started system was compressor shut off and there was a “27” e

8/20/25 Tan Performed quality assurance on heat pump with electric heat install done on 7/24/25. Tested electric heat and found operational. 19a at 234v at each strip. I should note that only 10kw is working for now even though it’s rated for 15kw. There was not enough room in the breaker panel to run to supply the additional 5kw. Homeowner is aware until they improve their home electrical system, it will only run with 10kw back up heat. Tested heating mode. Found 30° temp split. Pressures and temperatures look good reading from trane app. I turned on aux lockout at 45° to prevent electric heat from activating above 45° weather unless in defrost. Tested cooling mode. Ductwork was found sealed and properly installed. Condensate drain and ez trap are pitched as well as condensate pump being leveled. Surge protector found on blower motor. Filter is 22x20x1. Showed client how to change in future. Electrical wiring are secure and tight. Checked thermostat settings and found everything set

3 Ton Carrier AC No cooling. Found failed dual run capacitor at outdoor unit. Failed on the fan side. So fan was not running. AC would run without outdoor fan. Verified integrity of compressor motor using megaohmeter: Pass Replaced and tested system. Completed AC tune up while on site: Aprilaire 413 filter ok. Inspected wiring, controls, electric motors. There is no surge protection on HVAC equipment. Left estimates for surge protectors Inspected drain and pump. There is no water safeties other than pump safety. Left email estimate for EZ trap and wet switch. Measured temperature split (72-54=18° Good) Checked R410A refrigerant pressures and diagnostics: Ok. There is a lot of fluctuation in head pressures: an indicator that there is noncondensibles in the refrigerant system. The system was more than likely not properly evacuated at install. This is NOT a safety concern at all just a matter of efficiency and performance. Refrigeration and or comfort cooling Systems with noncondens
