I returned back to the customers home to check out the heat pump. It’s was Completely frozen last time I was here. They were going to defrost the unit with warm water. I came back this evening and it’s still frozen, but an inch thick of ice on the inside of the heat pump. I tried mount it with defrost and hammer and out with a mallet still got a lot of ice we need to return possibly with a heat gun, melt remaining ice so we could see if it’s a charge issue or if it’s a issue when we had the snow storm end of January. Please contact the customer tomorrow to see if we can get somebody back out to finish up of the defrosting of the ice.

I arrived for no heat on a heat pump. The outdoor unit is completely frozen over. I pulled the disconnect on the outdoor unit so it won’t try to run anymore. Customers can use their indoor auxiliary heat for the meantime this system needs to defrost before we come back and re-diagnose what causes the freeze up, the customers will speed up the process by warm water on the outdoor unit and I believe tomorrow’s gonna be roughly 50°. I collected for my diagnostics .

Completed heat tune up for natural gas boiler 210,00BTU input (8) circulators (2) zone controls.

Cleaned heat exchanger. Flue piping, burners and burner compartment
Inspected pilot assembly. Pilot flame blue with orange tip: Good
Inspected hyrdronic components: feed valves, expansion tank, circulator.
Checked wiring controls and components.
Aquastat hi limit set to 180°F.
Standing pilot gas valve ok
Combustion and draft tests: Pass

System operating well at this time. Boiler is 24 years old. Approaching replacement age.

Completed heat tune ups for (2) Bosch heat pump systems.

Both 20x25x filters ok
1st floor system has a failed pressure transducer. Transducer is giving control incorrect DC volts input. And therefore the compressor is not modulating. This unit also has a history of having a refrigerant leak. We charged the system 3# R410A in 2023. I would consider Replacing system.
We will provide quote to replace pressure transducer.
Temperature rise for 1st floor system is 1

Heating check up on 5 year old 90% Amana Natural Gas Furnace

Started tune up and completed tuneup running combustion tests. Both tests show appropriate combustion levels. Tested my return and supply temperatures and found a temp rise of 40 degrees which is in appropriate data plate range. I tested static and found total static to be .58inwc.

Checked all electrical connections including total system amps. Inducer amps, blower amps, ignitor and flame sensor, all electrical components functioning properly.

Filter was replaced today. Humidifier was maintenanced today #35 water panel. I pulled and cleaned flame sensor. Visually inspected blower and burners, both in good condition. I ensured all pressure switch tubing is clear and flushed drain lines to ensure there are no blockages and that condensate pump is functioning properly.

Noticed water leaking from inducer exhaust piping, visually inspected and found several small cracks in grey PVC. I used red caulk to temporarily

Performed precision heat tune up on 2007 York gas furnace. Replaced 16x20x1 air filter. Checked all electrical connections and components. Found hsi is showing signs of wear very white and brittle. Also flames sensor should also be replaced. Used camera and looked over heat exchanger. Tested blower capacitor. Blew out drain tubing. Gas furnace is 19 years old and would highly recommend getting a replacement quote. Gas furnace is working at time of service.

 furnace check ups .
I arrived to the customers home to service both their 4 yr old Amana systems. I started with checking the air filters and found they both need to be replaced. The customer ordered the air filters. He replaces his own filters, and water panels. . I checked all my electrical connections and voltages. I inspected and tested the burners , flame sensors and the igniters on both units. I water tested all tubing and hoses. I inspected the exhaust and fresh air pipe for restrictions and bellies. I inspected the inducer and the blower motor operations for both units. I checked and tested for combustion and took temp rise splits at the return and the supply's on both systems . Both heat systems are working fine at this time of service. I did recommend upgrading his burners to stainless steel for both systems. 1st floor has 5 burner tubes and the 2nd floor has 4 burner tubes. I have as discount price . He wants to know if they would be under any type of warranty.
