I arrived to a system freezing up. Customer has an old R22 Bryant  coil that’s 38 yrs old  with a 5 yr old Goodman 410a a/c outside unit . Still with original copper and original piston metering device. Low on charge . Highly recommended replacing the whole system the furnace is original to the house as well . They are scheduled for an estimate at 12:00 to 1:00 today . I collected for my diagnostic fee paid by cc.

I arrived to a customers attic system not working. We are just here in June a few weeks ago for a maintenance when I got up in the attic and I did not see a light on the wet switch or power lights on the unit.  When  I  brushed up against the return door . I heard the unit power up and I could see the lights come on.  The return door for the air handler wasn’t secured and was dropping the door switch, causing the system not to run. I got the door back on correctly , Waited for system to come back on and I checked my  charge. Everything is back up and running at this time of service . No charge recall from recent maintenance.

Downingtown, PA - I returned  to a call that I was at earlier this morning. Found the wet switch in the pan  was tripped. I looked at the interior of the equipment. I didn’t see any water and it was just a little puddle by the wet switch. Nothing was leaking out the condensate pump or the 3/8 tubing not sure where the water came from . It may have come from me when I was testing the drains before I went outside to the outdoor unit. Or when I was spraying the outdoor coil, maybe some water got into the house or from the hose bib not sure but the system is back up and running at this time of service and it’s still dry.

I confirmed that the filter was ok, made sure the blower motor runs , and that the indoor coil was free of ice or debri. I went to the outdoor unit and inspected the system components and made sure the system has pressure. I found the outdoor coil is very dirty and the dual capacitor has failed. I bundled some pricing together for the customer for an option for the repairs. She went with the middle option, which was a coil, cleaning, dual capacitor under warranty labor, and a contract sign up. I completed the coil cleaning on the outdoor unit and replace the dual capacitor (45/5) and signed the customer up for the contract and collected for diagnostic discounted at 15%. I tested system operation when completed pressures look great. Everything is back up and running at this time of service. I collected  $801.00 for today service paid by credit card.

I confirmed that the filter was ok, made sure the blower motor runs , and that the indoor coil was free of ice or debri. I went to the outdoor unit and inspected the system components and made sure the system has pressure. I found my dual capacitor blew out and needs to be replaced. I went over pricing with the customer gave him some options. He went with the basic option to just replace the dual capacitor. I did let the customer know that I will need to check the system operation was the capacitor is put in and will let him know if I see any other issues, remove the failed capacitor and replaced with a  new OEM capacitor 40/5 mfd. Recommend EZ trap with overfill protection switch with cleanout and wet switch for attic equipment. There is a float-style safety switch in the pan.

I checked and replaced the indoor air filter , the filter size is 18x20x1 . I Inspected the indoor coil and tested the primary drain pan and cleared and tested the water drains and traps if applicable. I Took indoor temp splits at the return and the supply  and checked the blower motor condition and operation. I looked  at the outdoor unit wiring connections and voltages . I inspected  the outdoor components and checked my unit pressures by using super heat sub cool method.  The system is in good operating condition at this time.

I checked and replaced the indoor air filters for both systems the filter sizes are (2) 16x25x1 . I Inspected both indoor coils and tested the primary drain pan and cleared and tested the drains.  I flushed the drains with water to test the pumps . I Took indoor temp splits at the return and the supply on both systems ,  and checked the blower motor amperage draws. I looked at the outdoor units and the  wiring connections and voltages . I inspected  the outdoor components and checked my unit pressures by using super heat sub cool method.  Everything is working fine at this time of service for 1 out of 2 systems. Total due for todays service is $605.25 , customer had a coupon from our site for $35.00 total due for today is $570.25 paid by cc.

I checked and replaced the indoor air filters for both systems the filter sizes are (2) 16x25x1 . I Inspected both indoor coils and tested the primary drain pan and cleared and tested the drains.  I flushed the drains with water to test the pumps . I Took indoor temp splits at the return and the supply on both systems ,  and checked the blower motor amperage draws. Customers are hearing a noise on the outdoor unit. I looked over the whole system and everything looks good. Did find a condenser fan label was hitting the blade as it was running causing the noise . I removed the label and re tested the system. Noise is gone , everything is back up and running. No charge warranty .

He spent considerable time testing and optimizing the unit, discussed operation of the unit and provided education related warranties, proper filters, and mechanical functions. Nathan was on time and demonstrating a lot of experience. I asked to have the drain line rerouted in the basement, and despite challenges in th e ceiling area, he handled it well. Everything was tied down tightly. He walked me through all parts of his work to ensure I was satisfied. Liz stopped by for an AC routine assessment and tuneup. She was very friendly and knowledgeable and answered all my questions .
