Removed old ac system. Installed new ac system and coil. Ran new line set. Installed new disconnect with surge protector. Installed ez trap and new condensate pump. Ran new outdoor wire. Tested system for heating and cooling.
Air Conditioning maintenance

Checked the AC side of the system . Checked the air filter and found good . Checked the wiring connections and the voltages on high volt and low volt. Inspected the indoor coil and flushed and tested the drain line. Checked the blower condition and inspected the blower amps and tested for static pressure. Went to the outdoor unit and Checked and tested the pressures by using superheat and sub cooling methods. Checked the amps for the compressor and the fan motor and checked the indoor cooling temps at the supply and return. The AC system is working fine at this time of service.

Upon arrival, I found furnace would cycle on without blower and would trip on high limit. Checked to make sure blower motor had power and a signal to turn on. Motor bearings are not seized so this is most likely due from a power surge. Recommended installing a new motor with a X 13 surge protector. also recommended homeowner gets a membership since the savings will pay for itself. collected a payment for diagnostic charge and membership fee. Also collected a 50% deposit on part. Need to return to replace blower motor and surge protector. Also need to perform a maintenance as per contract. Upon arrival I removed and disassembled blower assembly. Installed new motor and reassembled blower assembly. Reinstalled blower assembly with a surge protector. Powered on unit and cycled furnace in heating. found blower motor would run, but it was not ramping up fast enough to keep heat exchanger cool. This indicates the CPU on the control board was also affected from surge. emailed homeowner an est

Customer called in for no cooling. Found disconnect in the off position. Turn disconnect to on position and test operation. I noticed when troubleshooting that refrigerant pressures are standing pressure 180 low on 180 high. Pressure don’t move when unit come on. Check amp draw. Compressor is drawling 2.1 amps but no operation. Check resistance across three windings on the compressor. I also did try a hard start assist but nothing worked. New compressor will be needed. I did estimate to replace compressor. I also provide estimate to replace outdoor unit. Customer also has the option to replace full system. Customer will decide.

Performed ac tune up check electrical low and high ok replace filter check split flushed drain, ok check outdoor unit refrigerant pressures r22 ok capacitor ok contactor is pitted, customer is aware this condition compressor is running on higher amps. Supply and return air temperatures ok. Unit is from 1999 customer will wait until breaks.

Upon arrival I replaced EEV board and found system was still having issues. Shut down system and recovered refrigerant. Removed 8 lbs. 4 oz. Purged nitrogen and unbrazed EEV and filter dryer. Braized in new EEV and filter dryer. Pressure tested system at 400 psi and checked for leaks. No leaks were present at this time. Evacuated system till I was below 500 µm. Weighed in 8 lbs. 5 oz. of new 410 a refrigerant. Cycled system in cooling and checked refrigerant pressures and temperatures. Refrigerant pressures and temperatures were appropriate at this time. Homeowner mentioned getting a hard start kit so I gave him an estimate to replace hard start kit and run capacitor since it was starting to get low. After homeowner approved estimate I replaced run capacitor, and installed new hard start kit. Cycled system in heat pump heating and checked refrigerant pressures and amp draw. System is operating appropriately at this time in both heating and cooling.

Fully assessed no heating situation. Found American standard heat pump locked out on code 4 at defrost board. Code occurred after 9th low pressure cut out. Found 16x25x1 air filter very dirty. Homeowner had new air filter. Replaced 16x25x1 air filter. Reset power at air handler. Checked refrigerant pressures in heating mode. They were 331/97. Also checked in cooling mode found refrigerant pressures were 156/34. Definitely a restriction in the system. Will need to get price and availability on eev board and eev head. Also possibly will need to replace entire eev which the refrigerant will need to be removed. Called our office to get a price on replacement of air handler which is about $6500.00. Will get back to customer tomorrow with repair cost.

Unit running but not providing any cold air. Found unit off upon arrival. Customer just replace thermostat. Found thermostat was set for traditional heat and ac. Set up thermostat to heat pump and test operation. System came on. Running on cool mode now. Cycle system ok.
