PECO Air Sealing and Insulation Project * Perform blower door test and calculate target for the home. * Install rafter vents at attic roofline to ensure ventilation is not negatively impacted by adding insulation. * Move insulation and air seal attic plane with single part spray foam and place insulation back into place. * Add more insulation into attic space with blown in insulation to achieve desired value. * Perform duct sealing for all accessible ductwork in mechanical room and crawlsapce area including register boots. * Perform CAZ testing including draft testing of appliances and combustion testing under worst case conditions. * Perform test out blower door test to validate results from air sealing.

Moved trane heat pump over 3ft away from electrical meter. Pumped refrigerant back into outdoor unit and closed the ports. Cut the refrigerant lines and disconnected the low and high volt wiring. Leveled pad in new location and replace paved unit on top with snow legs. Reconnected refrigerant lines and low volt wiring. Installed new whip between disconnect and outdoor unit. Pulled vacuum below 500 microns and released refrigerant charge adding as needed. Reviewed changes with customer and cleaned up work area.

AC tune up on Bosch 3 ton heat pump replace air filter check electrical components and connections. Check supply and return air temps flush drain test pump ok. Check furnace blower motor and cap. Control module is getting warmer. Gas furnace is from 2012. Check outdoor unit refrigerant levels and electrical reading on control inverter board. No error codes showing. Added seal tite to outdoor wire coming from electrical panel. Cycle heat pump ok. Office to follow up with customer in regards home comfort consultant appointment.

Completed AC tune up for 3 Ton Bosch inverter system Replaced 16x20x1 filter Indoor and outdoor coils in good condition Inspected wiring, controls, electric motors and components; Measured temperature split and static pressure Inspected drains; clears EZ trap, tested pump; added treatment tabs to drain pan. I showed Fran that she can add hire vinegar to the trap and to the pump to help keep it clean. Once per month. Assessed refrigerant charge checked pressures. *Helped Fran replace the supply grille in bathroom. AC system operating well at this time. Fran renewed plan today.

Completed Quality assurance 3.5 Ton Trane R454B system. Air handler in attic. Assessed all aspects of install: mechanical, ductwork connections, wiring, control setting, drain piping. Wrapped EZ trap with foam tape insulation Set refrigerant sensor incorrect spot according to install manual Verified fan speeds. Fan speeds (dipswitches 1-4) were set for 4 tons high. I changed to 3.5 Tons. Went through thermostat configuration. Fossil fuel boiler as aux heat. Aux heat lockout temperature set to 40°F. Heat pump lockout off. Assessed refrigerant charge tested in cooling mode. Add necessary refrigerant to achieve target subcooling. Homeowner believes outdoor unit should be moved. I told him there’s no need to do; so those codes are for gas meters. Told him how involved moving system was. Wants river rock to replace what was used to level unit. Install fails QA inspection.

Completed AC tune up for 3 Ton Lennox AC system Replaced 14x25x1 filter Indoor and outdoor coils in good condition; I cleaned back and side of outdoor coil with brush. No hose available Inspected wiring, controls, electric motors and components; left estimates for surge protectors. Homeowner agreed to surge protectors today. Completed work while here today. Measured temperature split and static pressure Inspected drains; cleared and primed EZ trap, tested pump; added treatment tabs to drain pan. Checked integrity of compressor motor (mega ohm test) Assessed refrigerant charge checked pressures. *REME Halo air cleaner cell replacement is due at following tune up, Recommended to replace every 2 years, was installed in September 2023. AC system operating well at this time. Homeowner renewed plan membership today. Paid with check for invoice today.

Removed old air handler, installed new Trane Air handler in new drain pan with wet switch. Adapted to existing plenums and re insulated as needed. Ran new lineset, drains with Ez trap, and pan switch. Removed old Heat pump and Installed new Trane HP on risers and new pad, new disconnect with surge protector, and all new line hide. Installed new ecobee thermostat and Reme uv light. Cleaned work area. Job is complete.

Assessed refrigerant charge checked pressures. System is low on refrigerant: target subcooling is 11° + or - 3°. It is running at 1° Subcooling, system will underperform on demanding days in the summer. Had discussion about charging system and replacing outdoor capacitor versus upgrading AC system. *Scoped out heat exchanger with inspection camera. Heat exchanger in good shape at this time. Arrived at call for no heat on Bosch heat pump, checked outdoor unit first and condenser was coded out on an H5 stating that high-pressure lockout was achieved. When inside and checked filter and it was very very dirty, told customer to change filter and reset the outdoor unit, sat with unit after I reset it and insured everything else was fine and the temperature came up to temperature. No other issues at this time.
