Equipment is 4 Ton AC with 90,000 BTU 2 stage natural gas furnace.
2 zones
Lennox Harmony III zone board with discharge air sensor that opens the AC (outdoor unit) circuit when temp drops below 40°
(2) Zones (2) Thermostats 1st Fl and 2nd floor

(3) Dampers: (2)are 8x20 1st Fl (1) is 16x8 2nd Fl

Formerly the other side of Y conductor at the furnace control was landed to DS on the zone board so only when dehumidification would call would the Y contact close on the indoor control and energize cooling blower speed.
Zone panel is no longer energizing the dehumidification, so o wired to Y1 contact on zone board.

Afterwards tested AC. Pressures ok.
Capacitor is a 45/10uF reading ok on 45 but a little weak on the 10 (fan) side.
Contactor is also pitted Provided estimate to replace both.

During my time here today we discussed and I recommended replacing the system.
Offered consultation but she will be too busy to be able to sit down for a consultation. I took notes and photos for Joe to

Found furnace off.
90,000 BTU 2-stage

Error code 112 “Furnace ground not detected.”
Opened 4x4 box. There was a gap on the grounding wires. I Wire nutted
These together however found 2x4 box that feeds furnace with an old cloth wire WITHOUT a ground.
The only nearby available ground is from an outdoor lighting wiring box. I ran a 15’ length of MC wire between this box and the 4x4 box with the ground to provide a ground to the furnace.
Error code still persisted.
Based on Lennox troubleshooting forum. The game sensor connections can also be the source of this problem. I throughly cleaned the terminal that the wire connects to there was a decent amount of rust her put everything back together.

Started system and no error codes presented themselves.

We need to order control board but this isn’t guaranteed to solve problem.Left estimate to replace board and flame sensor.

Strongly recommend having an electrician run a new feed wire from breaker panel to the furnace with its own gr

Added. Piece of foam insulation and taped the one side of the 14x14” return grille in their daughters bedroom.
There is a slightly greater vacuum on that return now that I secured that flex better and put a clean filter in and as a result a piece of paper began vibrating in the bay.

The system was set to Fan On when I left today as I had told Vien before leaving. She set Fan back to Auto.

System operating well at this time.

Completed heat tune up for heat pump with 10KW electric heat kit,

Replaced (1) 14x14x1 filter; they need to replace the other one soon.
Indoor and outdoor coils in good condition.
Inspected wiring, controls, electric motors and components. 10KW electric heat kit 40A: Good
Measured temperature rise and static pressure
Inspected drains. There is no trap or overfill protection switch on drain line. The drain is on the negative side of airflow and needs to be trapped. Provided email estimate for EZ trap.
Verified integrity of compressor and defrost cycle
Checked refrigerant charge/pressures.

Heat pump operating well at this time,

They said they had lower airflow to their bedroom which is farthest point from AIr handler. Found supply plenum sagging and off the equipment breech. Set back into place. Now all supplies are a little more balanced.
Much quieter in daughter’s room now. About 225 rpm on each 6x10 supply grille now with the exception of the furthest one which is 200.

I arrived to the customers home to service their 8 yr old gas furnace system.
I started with checking the air filter and replaced , the filter size is 20x25x1. I checked all my electrical connections and voltages. I inspected and tested the burners , flame sensor and the igniter. I water tested all tubing and hoses. I inspected the exhaust and fresh air pipe for restrictions and bellies. I inspected the inducer and the blower motor operation. I checked and tested for combustion and took temp rise splits at the return and the supply. Everything is running fine at this time of service.

Replaced OEM Inducer assembly Lennox gas furnace.

Removed old inducer.
Caulked the plate behind it in area where secondary plate could be leaking.
Installed new inducer.
Tested and cycled furnace (3) times with run time about 5 to 8 minutes and allowed to cycle off. Observed no leaks at new inducer or secondary cover plate.

I did notice the furnace trap (external on Lennox) has been leaking very slightly at some point to the point where the butterfly clamp of cleanout has rusted. It is not leak out at this time but I have seen these trap develop leaks so left estimate to replace should it ever be necessary.

The bypass humidifier feed valve has failed. Left estimate to replace if she wants use of humidifier. Humidifier was left unwired by previous contractors.

Furnace operating well at this time. She paid balance today.
