I arrived for no cooling call. I started with the downstairs system check the blower air filter and coil. I went to the outdoor unit and check the capacitor and check for voltage. I hooked up my gauges. Turned the system on check my super heat and sub cool and found the system was low on refrigerant. I gave the customer a few options. He opted to go with the leak search. I found a small leak on the inside of the indoor coil and I found a leak on one of the copper lines outside on the outdoor unit. Quote price for indoor coil and outdoor repair was around 5,300.00 . Customer decided to go with an estimate for a new system. I talked to Angie. It’s scheduled for tomorrow between 11 and 12 collected for leak search and diagnostics for tonight paid by credit card.
Barry was great. He explained everything in detail and thoroughly looked at all of our AC system. He answered all of our questions and gave us recommendations.

Bosch Inverter installed 2024 There is oil Boiler on a separate thermostat. Not wired to heat pump thermostat There are rust marks around bathroom HVAC supply. Which isn’t uncommon. The one office does have dirt on one area outside round supply grille, but no mold inside round duct. Supply branch ducts (8) are hard piped. Supply trunk is internally lined. There is some discoloration inside but this is typical of internally line/insulate ducts. Supply Trunk is 8’ of 20x12 with 4’ of 14x12 and the transition piece in between. The most comprehensive way to ensure clean duct is to replace this trunk with one that is externally insulted. Replaced fiberglass filter with a pleated MERV 8 filter provided by homeowner. Size 14x30x1 Discussed APCOX whole home air treatment system. Will need remote bulb that can be installed in return box to treat indoor coil. There is no wet switch in auxiliary pan. Nothing to shut off equipment if pan fills with water. Left estimate for wet switch. Wou
Aaron was friendly and professional.

Upon arrival, I performed maintenance on AC system. Checked air filter. Inspected evaporator coil and drain pan. Cleared and tested drain line. Inspected blower assembly and electrical connections. Cycled system in cooling and checked static pressure and temperature differentials. Proceeded to outdoor unit. Inspected outdoor coil and condenser fan. Checked electrical connections and components on outdoor unit. Checked refrigerant pressures and temperatures. System is operating appropriately at this time.

Performed tune up on carrier gas furnace, tested unit in heating mode and tested gas pressures and combustion, tested and cleaned flame sensor as well as hot surface igniter and blower and inducer motor. Tested temperature split and heat exchanger. Looked at the room in question and airflow was decent, told customer if he is still having issues he should look into installing a mini split in the back bedrooms.
