Completed AC tune up for Daikn Minisplit. (3) indoor heads: 2 bedroom 1 in dining room. Washable filters are clean. Units are 3 years old so they can buy new photo catalytic filters if they wanted to. I showed the, where to source them. Flushed drains with water. Drain pans are clean and do not hold on to water. Measured temperature split at each indoor head. All rang from 20-25°: Good Inspected wiring, controls, electric motors. Checked refrigerant charge. Good System operating well at the time of tune up.

Installed new trane airhandler and heat pump outdoor. hung wire up in attic using all thread and placed unit inside condensate pan with wet switch. Reused return and built transition piece for supply. Tapped/caulked supply and return. Adapted high volt and installed new 240v switch. Adapted condensate line and installed new ez trap installed new Honeywell prestige thermostat with accessories and wired in low volt with safeties.. Flushed line set and connected to new equipment. Installed new trane outdoor on leveled pad and snow legs. Installed new disconnect with surge protector and wired into outdoor unit. Cleaned up work area and tested out equipment. Would recommend installing an outdoor sensor for the prestige kit so that we can lock out the heat pump at 35°. Also customer asked me if the thermostat was WiFi so I would offer the red link device to him.

Reviewed home to see if consolidating 2 systems into 1 system is possible. Lineset is undersized, will need to run a new lineset with linehide and will need to run new wiring from panel to outdoor unit with new breaker. Ductwork will need to be modified and zoned with (3) trunk dampers. Other option would be to replace 2 systems and keep configuration the way it is. Ductwork is old and insulation is in poor condition but some is inaccessible.

Found failed condenser fan motor 3 Ton Carrier AC. Dates to 1986 Homeowner wants to replace both systems in the house. Original 40/5 capacitor Good! 1st Floor system 3Yon outdoor 2nd Floor is a 2.5 ton. Both ducted from the attic. He has oil hydronic for heat. Wants to upgrade to heat pumps. Homeowner was presented options including convert to 1 system of proper capacity and zone it. Or replace just the first floor and do mini splits for second floor Joe is coming out at 5PM Charged diagnostics only

System was struggling to cool Found very dirty outdoor coil. Head pressure high 435 Cleaned with nearby hose. Ran system, after 10 min run time head pressure 350. Left estimate to deep clean including taking frame of unit apart if needed in future. Also noticed system did not engage AC2 or second stage cooling. They had a power outage on Thursday. Reset both circuits. Told them to reset breakers anytime a power outage occurs. Pressures are good. Temp split 87-67.5 Give system time to dehumidify and cool.

Upon arrival I found thermostat was calling for cooling but outdoor unit was not running. Found breaker for AC unit was in the off position but not the tripped position. Reset breaker and cycled cooling while checking amp draws. System had proper amperage, but there were many concerns due to systems age. The top of the unit is made out of plastic, which is shattering and is the only thing holding the condenser fan up. if the fan breaks free, it’ll cause a lot of damage to the system. Recommended getting a quote to replace system as soon as possible.
